When you say "with no luck", I'm guessing that you have Windows Aero
available, but it cannot be used? Are you receiving any error messages
when you attempt to turn it on?
But updating a graphics card driver shouldn't turn off Aero where the
previous driver worked. We are both missing some critical factor here
that is turning off Aero, such as a newly installed program perhaps.
I've seen some DivX utilities that can do this.
DirectX 10 was not installed with the new drivers. DX10 is a standard
component of any Windows Vista installation, regardless of which
graphics card driver you are using.
Try running the System Configuration tool (press <WINKEY>+<R>, type
MSCONFIG and press <ENTER>. ) Disable any unecessary startup items and
then try re-enabling Aero after a restart. If Aero can be turned on as
shown in an earlier post without problems, then one or more of the
startup items you have disabled is the problem child.
