Downlloading files at a second computer

I have a home computer which has a bad hard drive which I will have to
replace this weekend. I don’t mind that but the downloading of all the
updates since I bought Windows XP Pro in 2002 is too much on a dial up
network. At the office I have another computer with XP Pro and a DSL. I
there some way to identify the updates I need and then download them at work
and save them to a RW CD to update my home computer? I tried this and
discovered a Microsoft web page which allows access to some files but not
many. For instance SP2 only has access to the download manager file. The
same is true of the SP for IE6. Surely there is a way around this problem.
I also ordered a free CD of SP2, but won’t get it fast.

This problem compounds itself with Office Professional. I was able to
download one long file at work that I need at home. And I know I can use my
crippled home computer to access the Windows Update page and view and print
the update history. I just don’t relish spending 15 or 20 hours on the
Internet downloading files when I should be able to get them faster.
