How to Download + Burn Update Files?

Hi Everyone,

On the Easter weekend I've got to go patch and update a Windows 2000 box
that's in a rural environment on 28.8 dialup. It was last updated in
September, via Windows Update. I've got broadband - Is there any way I can
download all the MS patches and updates to my machine, burn them to CD and
take them with me?

That way I won't grow old waiting for them to all download on dialup. There
doesn't appear to be any easy way to do it from windows update.

Thanks.

Geoff, you can do it from the Windows Catalog. Check here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...ds/default.asp

Thanks Barry - That was very helpful. Couple more questions:

1) Do you have to run each patch separately - i.e. if you download fifty
patches do you have run each one or does the CD-R just hum away to itself?

2) If you attempt to install a patch that's already installed does the
system deal with that gracefully?

Cheers,
Geoff
