download failures error code 0x80200010

I am using windows xp home edition. When using the microsoft update site
every download i have tried fails with the the error code 0x80200010. Can
anyone help ?

I have had this problem for months and not even many MANY emails back & forth
to Tech Support has been able to solve it (As each fix tries to d'load, the
window comes up "Failed" - up to 25 at a time). This is the first time I
got this error code however. The only way I get the updates is to find a
website for each one and download them manually - individually. I wish
M'Soft could solve this problem.

0x80200010
The network card is inactive or disconnected. All jobs are placed in the
BG_JOB_STATE_TRANSIENT_ERROR state

do you have Panda Antivirus installed?

remove it or download patches from pandasoftware.com website to dl correctly
from MS update
