Download/Install XP SP2

After a very lengthy download, lengthy verification, lengthy backup and
lengthy install the process finally terminates with the message that Access
is denied. Now Windows Update will not run but gives me theoptions of three
sites from which to obtain information as to why it will not run. This is
site number three in the list. Twice this is the message and all systray
programs stopped prior to download including firewall. Attempt from Safe
mode yields this new failure. Wazup?
