In case I put this in the wrong place I am using XP prof SP@ and the
DEFENDER version has given me the following problem:

I too have had the same problem with KB915597 however the version is now
1.67.321.0 I had not installed it the first time and yet it still repeats
presenting itself for installation . In order to get rid of the gold icon
indicating there is a download waiting to be installed, Iturned off the
automatic updates for a minute so that the "Do not show this update again"
box presented itself, which it had failed to do each time it showed up again
to be downloaded. I of course then turned the Auto update back on to
"download but let me choose" and yet this version of the same kb will NOT
STOP APPEARING! HOW DO WE GET RID OF THIS VERSION OF THE SAME KB NUMBER? (If
this is only for Vista problems , please move this intact to the XP board,
please, although I was looking for a DEFENDER ISSUES Board originally because
it is a Defender issue)
Thanks

Consider going to the secuяity portal

<http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/>

and downloading the 32-bit definitions for Windows Defender to the desktop,
then
*right* click mpas-fe.exe and choose 'Run as
administrator'
to apply.

See if that both brings you up to date, and perhaps improves on the behavior
in future.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

Good luck
