Download midi files

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit. When I try to download a midi file
(from sites I've previously used) I get a "tempory folder" window. The
usual
"Save As" is shaded and not availlable. This seems to have happened
recently. I've had no trouble previously (the last 5 months) and of course
for the last 15 years with the various windows I've used. I've Associated
it with Cakewalk as my Default program but it plays with WMP. Dragging
doesn't seem to work either. Thanks for any help you can give. bobg

Hey Bob,

May you can try restoring to the default program for the file association on
MIDI?

Do this in Windows Explorer -> Folder Options -> File Types

Tried that. Didn't change anything for me. Have to take off. Thanks.
Jabez, for the response. I'll try again tomorrow. bobg

Hi Javez, I found the problem and the solution. By creation a new folder
(Dnld) and asigning it to the .mid association worked. I'm able to now
download the midis and just drag them to the program I want. Somehow, with
other "programs" the WMP always took over to "play" the file. Again,
thanks for your help. It made me think of things to try out. Have a nice
day, bobg.
