Is there any wayto download SP2 by file? I cannot download it becasue I'm
Using Dial-Up. I was wondering if SP2 can be downloaded by the means of a
collection of program so that I don't have to stay on the internet for
extremely long time. Please HELP.

Hi,

I ordered a CD from Microsoft with the SP2 update on it. Much easier to deal
with and I didn't waste any time downloading SP2. See the link below:

langauge than English on my XP system.

First off - if you turn on Automatic Updates - it will do this for you.. It
will download whenever you are connected, stop when ou disconnect, start up
where you left off when you connect again, and so on.. viscious little
cycle, really.

I'm sure you could find some download manager software out there to help you
out..

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Or you could ask a friend with broadband to download this file and burn it
to CD:

Direct Download of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP

Or you could order your own FREE CD..

Order the Free Windows XP SP2 CD

I still can't find any way to download SP2. The one that you guys suggested
are jsut way too big for me. I wanted a way to download the service pack in
separate file (possibly program ending with "-SP2-[Language].exe"?) Each
program should be no more than 15MB. Is there any way of downloading SP2 by
that mean? An 285MB IT professional version would really take a long time on
a 28.8 kbps modem.
And by the way, I am unable to accquire an CD of my Language Version from
where I'm living now. I would really appreciate if someone can help. Please
reply.

I also have trouble finding where the dowloaded file would be if those file
were downloaded from Windows Update. Maybe if a list of each Update
contained in SP2 and where to download them would be helpful. I like to save
update file to my disk, so i always download them from the Download Center.

Please re-read my answer. Either you search for and find your own Download
manager application.. (Google - wonderful tool - try it.) Or you can
download the FULL Install for SP2 (yes - it is big - get a friend who has
broadband to do it and give you a CD.) or you turn on Automatic Updates on
your computer and let it handle the download of SP2 for you - as I said, it
will do this for you.

It's that simple - and other than getting lucky and some local computer
store might be giving it away for free or for the cost of a blank CD
($0.10) - then those are it - those are your choices. You get the Automatic
Updates/windowsupdates version or you download the full version with the
method of your choosing.
