Download without Install?

I am in the process of creating a slipstreamed bootable CD for XP Pro SP2. I
have the needed software for the basic CD, but would like to add all of the
current security updates as well as optional updates (Media Player 10, .Net
framework, etc). I have searched for, but have not found, either a full
cumulative download or a set of individual downloads that can be downloaded
but not automatically installed. Is there a way to download these updates
without the auto install, or a website that may have them accumulated for
this purpose? If not, could someone point me to the location where these
updates are stored on the local computer and how I could incorporate them
into my CD?

Start with http://www.autopatcher.com/ although that will not give you them
in slip-streamed form.

It might be an easier solution for you to make yourself a slipstreamed
XP-SP2 installer, then let the current AutoPatcher do the rest.

The updates are not retained for more than a few weeks after they are
installed. The update files get purged automatically.

Be aware that some updates cannot be slip-streamed. This includes those
that require a EULA to be accepted. This is one reason why AutoPatcher
might be a better solution.
