Downloaded files go to local temp internet directory

When I've downloaded files from the net, I choose a directory to save the
file but then get error message saying that I don't have permission to save
files in that location and to ask the Administrator for permission. I am
the Administrator and I have no other users. All the files downloaded go to
the Local temp file since I don't have permission.

I can't figure out how to give myself permission --- I've been through the
help files but still have no clue. Can anyone help?

You didn't tell us to what directory you chose to save the files. Perhaps it
is a system directory or a junction, which would explain the difficulty.
Please supply the missing information. In the meantime, try and download a
file to your own Downloads directory, which is:

%systemdrive%\Users\your-username\Downloads.

Hi, you have to create a folder on your c: drive. start/computer/choose the
drive you want to create and name it XXXX after you close. Now you go on the
internet and download something, when a new window open you push save and a
new window open now you have to browse for new folder to find the folder
you creared before like XXXX and you save there from on every time you
download you have to be sure it is going in that folder. Bye JP

Sorry I left out that info ..... I have set up a directory for downloads:
C://Users/
Sharon/Downloads. What is interesting is that I can download zip
shareware into that directory but when I tried to download a Vista driver
module for my Canon printer from the Canon site, I got the message that I
didn't have permission to download to that directory. I had forgotten just
what the message said, so I went to Canon's site again and downloaded the
file again....and this time, it went into C://Users/Sharon/Downloads with no
error message! I tried it again, saving it my F:// drive directory and
still, no problem. So, it looks like this was something I was doing wrong,
although I don't know what it was. Thanks for replying and offering help -

Well, if you don't know what you were doing wrong then there's no way for me
to guess. ;-) Since everything is working well now, it doesn't matter. Glad
to here it's sorted and thanks for taking the time to post back.
