If I download all of the critical updates, will it clutter up my computer
and make it run slower? I reaaallly dont want that.

Take a look at the thread entitled "Yesterday's updates" (2/10/2005) in the
Windows Update forum for someone else's experience. I'm still trying to
determine if the updates were responsible for high CPU Usage (and slower
performance) on my own computer when I try certain tasks.

I downloaded and installed all the critical updates and did not notice any
difference in the speed at which my system operates.

James;
Generally you need all the Critical Updates.
If there is a Service Pack you have not yet installed, install the latest
Service Pack first.
Service Packs include all the previous Critical Updates and more.
