Downloading mass of updates question

I've been asked to assist a company in updating all of their computers; and
there are quite a few. No network is in effect.

Their XP Pro SP2 is what I understand to be a corporate version; thusly, I
can create a slipstreamed disk of all the overdue updates, hotfixes, etc. to
go around to each station.

But in checking, there are something like 60-70 updates. So my need is how
do I download all updates, at one time, to the administrator's hard drive ...
so that I can then do the slip stream process by using nLite ,,, which has
the option of seeing all updates if in a central directory.

I don't really want to have to do this one by one. Hopefully there is a way
for this ..... and I'd really appreciate it if you can assist me.

Any use to you?
Security updates are available on ISO-9660 CD image files from the Microsoft Download
Center

That month's update.

For security and other patches released for a given month :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms##-***.mspx
Replace ## with the two-digit year
Replace *** with the three character month abbreviation

Providing there are releases for that month, you will see the list of "critical"
"important" patches for that month

For just the current listing:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx

| Thank you. That looks like it might just be what I need.
|
| But one other question. DO you know if the individual ISO files that can be
| downloaded contain ALL the updates since SP2; or are the ones being released
| each month just for that month's releases?
|
| Thanks

Hi;

You should be able to download one huge bunch of updates from the Catalog
site (http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog)

Suggest picking the OS, setting the option to just the last 6 months, and
marking just Security and Critical updates. You can then burn these to a CD
for later install. You may also want to see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/296861 for tips on installing multiple
updates in one fell swoop.
