In XP I was always able to download all the messages in my subscribed
newsgroups on say, this server and also see the progress.

I have been unable to do this in Windows 7 prof.

What am I missing? How can I do it. When I click synce while on the news
server nothing happens.

I am able to download the messages when clicking on the newsgroup. That is
very inconvienient.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

You need to set your synchronization settings for the newsgroup before
the Synch will do its thing.

Right click on a newsgroup in the folder list and select your option.

Unfortunately, you'll find that you need to that for each newsgroup.
There's no global setting.

With which version of WLMail?

Are the newsgroups in that account marked for synchronization?
E.g. something other than Don't synchronize.

Also, if your synchronization criterion is not All Messages
make sure that you don't open any of the newsgroups
you want to synchronize while Working Online.
(Otherwise the definition of New Messages will change
and there will be nothing more for your synchronization
command to do.)

That isn't synchronization either.

It may help if you'd explain in detail what "click synch while
on the news server" means. FWIW I only use Ctrl-F5.
