Hi,

I just wanted to know what exceptions do I have to include in the firewall
to allow files download through Internet. When I disabled the firewall, I can
successfully download files from Internet, but when I enabled it, the
download does not start. I don't want to keep the firewall disabled so can
anyone tell me what should I included in the firewall exception to allow
files download?

thanks,

None that I'm aware of. I download files all the time using default
installation settings in Vista Ultimate from MSDN, Sun, Nero and other
sites. No issues.
I do have to "allow" the downloads, but that's an IE7 thing which also
occurs in XP.

Can you be more specific about your issue and its symptoms? Do you see any
error messages? Please quote them.

if it is a specific program that is having problems downloading then you have to allow that program through the firewall.
