downloading windows xp service pack 2 won't stop.

I am atemting to download xp service pack 2 and the download keeps on growing
in size. my download started out as stated(75 mb) and then started to verifie
the download at completion. then it went back to downloading(94mb in
size)verified at 94 than jumped up again. it is now up to 531 mb and I
suspect it will continue to grow in size. or am I wrong is service pack 2
that large a file? I am installing the file because my computer took a dump
and I had to re install software. washed drive with drive washer to delete
corupt files before re install. any one have any ideas?

Stop that download and get the stand-alone IT version and install from it.
