Downloads

i have tried to download patches to get my printer/scanner/fax and my ipod to
work on my new hp running windows vista. when i click save the dialog box
goes away then i cant find the file. i look in the recently downloaded folder
and its empty. i also try just running the file and it shows that it is
loaded but nothing works. i am not a computer genius and cannot get anything
to work on this computer and am really thinking about taking it back...i am
not happy with the way vista works and really need the help of an expert to
solve some of these issues. so you experts out there ...help!..i have a
lexmark 7300 series...and i can log on to itunes but cannot download the
program or sync my ipod to this hp....any suggestions??

In your browser options, there should be a tab telling you where it is
putting the files, and you should be able to change that to somewhere more
conveinient place, that's all it took to fix that problem on my laptop.
Another thing to check is if vista is just blocking the downloads. I had to
go through a little bit to fix that, as vista automatically blocks a lot of
things that it shouldn't.

You right, you should really look at where the saved download will go when
the first download dialog shows. Best to make it save to your desktop so you
can find it easily.
