Downnloads work, installations don't

I am able to download updates but they won't install. I can't find anything
to help me in the troubleshooting or anywhere else. If anyone has a clue
please let me know. Thanks! I am using Windows XP Home Addition.

Registry cleaner has removed Path key ... follow the instructions to restore
the missing key ... requires the use of regedit but has proven successful on
more than one occasion !
