In my copy of Vista I've got DPI set so large that the control buttons at
the bottom of the "Set DPI" screen are not visible. Only the red button at
the top of the screen. Whiich, of course, doesn't do anything, except
"Exit". Please help!

If you do not have your video display set to its maximum then try that if
not then maybe restarting in safe mode may let you reset the DPI.

Hi Don,

When you get to the "Set DPI" screen, press the Down Arrow key once and
press Enter. This will set is to the default 96 DPI. You can use this
tutorial as a guide to help with this.

Don,

Not sure how to get to a 'Set DPI' screen.

On my Vista home:
right click blank area on desktop
select Personalize
select adjust font size in left pane
accept the UAC
that brings up a dialog labeled 'DPI Scaling'
select 'Default scale (96 DPI)' which is toward the top so you should be
able to see it
that produces a warning that change takes place after reboot (at the bottom
so you may not be able to see it)
setting the button also highlights the 'Ok' button (also at the bottom) so a
carriage return at this point should make the change effective after reboot.
