I'm attempting to install Microsoft Data Protection Manager Trail 2007 on a
Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2 x64 RC box. The installer begins and
passes all the requirements and begins installing.
During the SQL installation I get the error:
"The SQL Server 2005 installation failed. All changes made by the SQL Server
2005 installation to the system were rolled back. (ID: 4024)
Manually install SQL Server 2005. For instructions, see "Manually Installing
Prerequisite Software" in the DPM 2007 Deployment Guide."
I've tried manually installing SQL Server + SP2 which installed issue and
then trying to install DPM 2007, which just errored at the same point.
I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the application 5 times so far with
the same issue. The one thing to note is that the first time I install the
application The Microsoft System Cetner Data Protection Manager 2007 portion
failed with an Access Denied. It's after that, that SQL fails.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
