i use 3ds max and photoshop and want to know if there is a way to drag files
inside the open application.Technical support could not help me.Just to clear
these two applications are open and i can't drag associated files in to the
application.Instead i have to use the "file" to open these files. This is a
big problem becuase i now use vista business and windows xp pro had no problem

Unless the application was designed to support drag-and-drop to open
files, there is no way to magically "enable" the feature. Although I
find it hard to believe that such mainstream apps as 3DS Max and
Photoshop do not support drag-and-drop...

Hi,

Probably because in XP they ran from the Programs Files directory and your
user account had full control over them. In Vista, applications run from a
virtual directory in the user account, and the user does not have write
privileges in the main Program Files directory. To accomplish what you are
asking, the program vendor would have to rewrite the software.

If XP was working for you, why did you switch. Depending on your computer
you may be better off with more memory and maybe XP X64 edition.

I use both of those programs. I am not using Vista right now, but from my
memory, you can drag and drop files onto the workspace just as you could in
XP. I'll be able to get back and verify this in a couple of days.
