I discovered that wen I am in IE if I right click the mouse and hold it down
I have a writing/drawing tool in red thAt I can circle items with or just
draw lines. As soon as I release the mouse the tool disappears and there are
no lines or doodles.
Can someone tell me what and the how and why of this? Thanks.

Hi John,

This is not a built-in feature of Internet Explorer. You must have installed
some IE Add-on, which provides this function; such as a 3rd party toolbar,
etc.

You'll probably need to identify which add-on is providing this drawing
function, then consult whatever help avenues are available for that tool.

Thanhks. I did install IE7Pro a month ago or so. Perhaps that has some
gimmick in it. John
