Dreamscene Blackouts Login

Twenty pages of dreamscene posts, whew.

Dreamscene is causing a rather nasty bug on my logins, namely causing a
blackscreen - the -entire- screen, not just the background. All I see is
darkness and the mouse pointer, which flickers. Impossible to navigate.

A workaround exists where I can cntl-alt-delete and logout of the first
session (on computer boot) and re-login, and the problem goes away.
However, once I was unable to do even that and had to cold boot the
computer, resulting in a wonderful 3 hour re-initialization of one of my
RAID5 hard drives. Very scary.

As it stands I've returned to a static background. Maybe Stardock's
version is more stable?

Well, I was certain the culprit was Dreamscene, as the bug appeared
after first using it. However, with a static background it occurred
again this morning. Possibly a startup program. So have to hunt it down
.. . . .
