Greetings,
I am a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist for Vista.. So, If I
can't figure this out, it's either impossible or such a stupid solution that
I'd look past it several hundred times.
Whenever I try to apply an MPEG DreamScene wallpaper I get the following
error:
"The CinePlayer decoders have not yet been activated.
You must activate the product before use.
Please run the player that included these decoders in order to activate the
product."
This error is driving me insane at this point. I performed an anytime
upgrade from Home Premium (32-bit) to Ultimate (32-bit) about a week ago and
have been working non-stop at a resolution to this.
The following information below is what I've tried, what I don't have and
anything else that may help someone come up with a solution:
-I do not have anything Sonic related installed. (No Easy CD Creator or
anything.)
-I use Windows Media Player 11, WinAMP and Media Center only, with no
other programs installed controlling Media.
-I am using the Vista Codec Package as my encoders/decoders.
-I have no issues playing MPEGs, AVIs or any other types of Audio or Video
files except for with DreamScene.
-I am a ObjectDesktop subscriber, so I'm currently using Stardock's
DreamScape as a DreamScene "expansion". All of Stardock's .dream files work
perfectly.
Hopefully someone out there has some ideas.. I'm out of them.
Sincerely,
Chris Corbin - MCP, MCTS: Vista
