I installed the new dreamscene today and when i go to run a dreamscene
instead of the nice scene i get if i try to watch it in windows media player
i see a black screen.

I have aero enabled my graphics cards fully support it all drivers are up to
date but all i get is a black background that takes bumps the cpu requirement
of windows i thought maybe it was that it may just take a while but after
letting it sit for an hour i gave up on that theory... that and the fact that
i have 3 gigs of ram and a amd athlon 64 x2 5800+ ... so i tried uninstalling
all of the dreamscene componets and reinstalling the extra but nothing new..
so does anyone have an idea?

Same problem here... Extremely annoying. Although when I try to change
theme the background flickers a bit (I can see that the theme I was
trying to use for about 1/10 of a second) and then it dies again.
With DeskScapes I at least get to keep my icons on the workbench

found out a little something to get around it ... for me the only files that
are not playing are the mpeg files ... if you just go get yourself a video
converter you can change the mpegs into wmvs and then they play just fine. i
guess my question is answered .... but i would liked to have had it work with
the mpegs ... dang it ms your better then this.

Same thing happened to me so I converted them to wmv and then they worked.
But now the Mpegs work, go figure.

What kind of videocard do you have?
Because it's working fine for me on Vista64 with a 8800GTS vidcard with
latest drivers.

I have a 7950 GX2 with latest drivers (163.71 , also tried 163.69 -
same result).

Hi
I had the same problem on a new laptop. The problem is the mpeg decoder.
Mine started working after installing Nero7 which installs its own mpeg
decoder. Isuggest you find either a free mpeg decoder or most dvd burning and
movie creating software comes with an mpeg decoder.
