driver software

ive set up a cordless mouse to my windows vista laptop, it works ok but
i keep getting a pop up to install software, and windows cant find the
software to install the mouse, ive installed updates, but still get the
pop ups, please help!

the manufacturer has emailed me and said the mouse doesnt need software.
it is supposed to work off windows driver. it does work but windows keep
asking for the software to be installed. its drivin me nuts!
