I have just finished building a new machine. I have installed WinXP Pro and
updated through SP3. All updates have taken except for hardware drivers
(radeon x300 SE, AMD Processor, Realtek Gigabit and IDT Hi Def Audio Codec).
On the first three I get 0x80070005 and on the Audio Codec I get 0x800F0226
(which is not recorded anywhere I have looked). I have attempted to use any
of the fixes I have found here, including WGA Diag but have not had any
success. Any thoughts that would help me find a solution?

Get your driver updates from the manufacturer's or your computer
manufacturer's website, not Windows Update.

0x80070005 ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED

0x800F0226 SPAPI_E_DI_POSTPROCESSING_REQUIRED
The device's co-installer has additional work to perform after
installation is complete.

The first error is a Permissions issue. If security software has not
been installed, that should not be occurring.

You can use ProcessMonitor to find out where the Perms issue(s) is/are
taking place: Troubleshooting Permission Errors While Updating Software

I don't know what the second error signifies. Perhaps it's referring to
a required reboot in order to allow the driver package to either
finalize the installation or clean up the temp installation source ?
