If using Windows Update (WU) as the update source: Scan for available
updates > Uncheck the Nvidia driver update and Hide it, ignoring any
warnings > Now install any other critical *security* updates (no Optional,
Recommended or Hardware updates) offered.
If using Automatic Updates (AU) as the update source: Control Panel >
Automatic Updates > Select the third option listed ("Notify me but...") > If
and when the Nvidia update is offered again, Hide it, ignoring any warnings

Experienced users *never* install any hardware or third-party software
updates offered by WU/AU.
