Driver for Vista

Recently I upgraded my OS to Vista and I face problems in finding the
drivers for my modem (LT win) and scanner (CanoScan D646U). Anyone out
there kind enough to help me? Thank in advance.

Run windows update, and if there is an update for the mentioned drivers it
will notify you...make sure that your devices is connected to you pc

Check the manufacturer's website first.
Check Windows Update
If neither shows an updated driver, Google is many times helpful.

Personally, I would re-upgrade to XP and save the Vista DVD for posterity.

Modems are cheap...but who uses dialup anymore?
Scanners aren't always cheap, but they are a lot less expensive (with better
resolution) than they used to be...

That's one of many reasons I only have a couple machines with Vista and a
dozen others with XP at home.
I didn't comment on the OS, I just put a new computer on a desk for the kids
(8 of them, age 4-15) and let them have at it.
Every one of them has been using a computer since they were old enough to
use a mouse.
You wouldn't believe the negative feedback from those children! They wanted
to stage a lynching party in Redmond...
When XP was released, I upgraded all my old systems from W98/ME/W2K because
I could see/feel the improvement.
So could the kids.
With Vista, I don't personally see any improvement, I see it as a step
backwards.
Using Vista is like getting in my Escalade and finding out someone put a
Pinto interior (and drivetrain) in during the night...
it might smell new, but why did they use all that vinyl and plastic... where
is my leather and wood? And what happened to my horsepower?
Even with two of those 2.3L engines, it just just doesn't match up to my
6.2L.
I know change is a part of life, but it has to make sense and provide a
tangible benefit for me to accept it.
With Vista, they made many changes that make no sense whatsoever and those
changes provide no tangible benefit to the average user.
Ask an IT planner what benefit you get from dropping Vista in an existing XP
network.
After they take a dozen Excederin, they may laugh at you...they may shoot
you, but most will just roll their eyes and shake their head.

I had exactly the same problem with you. I had done things that Imad and Not
Me did but nothing changed. Finally I re-install my OS and the problem is
solved.

There are no Vista drivers for those. If they aren't working, you
will have to replace them.

If there are no vista drivers, d/l the XP driver. Set the Install.exe
properties to XP Compatible and see if that works.

The Canon scanner is not supported in Vista. Upgrade advisor reported it
unsupported to me before I upgraded to Vista. I really doubt the XP drivers
will function given the tight integration required in twain support with
other applications. I tossed it and got a new scanner. Saved money in time
and frustration, if you know what I mean. Pick up a new modem too, cheap.

Be aware that they may not exist. Each manufacturer of scanners (as
well as other devices: printers, etc.) decides for itself whether or
not to incur the trouble and expense of developing new drivers for its
older products. If the product is in current production, it probably
will develop them. If it's a little older, it may or not. And if it's
old enough, they will probably decide that's it doesn't make economic
sense to develop a driver for the new operating system.
