Drivers problems with Pack2

Hello,
since Windows XP Pack2 was installed on my dad's PC, he is unable to
connect his Digital Camera anymore (Cybershot DSC-P72) AND he can't use
his printer neither (Epson Stylus Color 740). i can't find any specific
driver for XP Pack2 on the net. The problem seems to be connected with
the Pack2 itself.
Is there anything i can try to make these hardware work on XP Pack2?

Try uninstalling the drivers, disconnect the camera and printer from the
computer, reboot.
Do not connect the devices when you reboot, install the latest drivers from
the manufacturers webpage, and then connect the devices when prompted to do
so.
