We have Vista ultimate 64 bit version. I try to watch movies instantly using
netflix.com and I always get the drm error message. I have tried following
all of the downloads they say to follow on netflix, but it still isn't
working. Does anyone know what I am missing to figure this one out? I tried
the Netflix tech support, but they didn't have much to offer. I am still
unable to watch instantly. Other dvds play fine if I have them in hand.

When mine died last night and Netflix was no help, I started searchin
forums. no luck yet but I wanted to add that I am using vista 32 bi
running ATI hd 2400 v7.15 drivers. this had been working fine since da
one. watching netflix stream for months. tech support told me that i
wont usually run with the new a version and thought perhaps rolling bac
my driver would work. i think i'll try this first

First, disable automatic license acquisition in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Playe
2. Select tools, then Option
3. Select Privacy and deselect Download usage rights automaticall
when I play or sync a fil

Next, rename the DRM Folder

1. Open My Compute
2. Click Tools, then Folder Option
3. From the Folder Options window, click the View tab, and select th
Show hidden files and folders butto
4. Next, uncheck the Hide protected operating system file
(Recommended) bo
5. Click O
6. Open My Compute
7. Open the C: driv
8. Open the Documents and Settings folde
9. Open the All Users folde
10. Right-click the DRM folder and select renam
11. Enter a new name for the folder (i.e. Old_DRM
12. Restart compute

This will force Windows Media Player to acquire a new license file
which should then be handled properly

No problem still persits. Only way I get to watch is if I do it throug
an XP machine, X-Box 360 or a virtual PC on my vista 64 bit machine

You would have thought they would have gotten this fixed already

I ended up fixing mine. I did a system restore. I never tried any of th
other things I found. I thought, what the heck, just roll it back, an
I'll be darned if that didn't fix it
