Hello,
I am really despair because I do not know what to do. I have got a
notebook and lots of movies in .mkv format with DTS sound. Since I
bought home cinema 5.1 I would like to play my movies from computer via
S/PDIF. My notebook does not have digital output, so I bought external
sound card from Creative (connected via USB, newest drivers; also tested
beta drivers). Well, it did play Dolby Digital after some set up, but
DTS was just deaf. Even testing sound in vista did not work. So, I
decided to return the card, bought new one from Asus (Xonar U1; again
USB connection). Installed the newest drivers but THE very same problem.
Dolby Digital was fine, but DTS deaf. I was really angry and my friend
said that DTS runs fine in XP - on both the cards.
Isn't there any kind of fix to make DTS run? I do not care about the
other stuffs the ext. sound cards have. I just need digital output.
That's it. I hope somebody can help me ... but I do not think it can
actually be fixed. I have already spent hours looking up the
internet. (or if you can tell me any external sound card that supports
dts sound 100%).
Thank you
