Dual Monitor Help

Hi, so I decided that it would be much easier if I juts had an extra
monitor that I could use for stuff. So I took the monitor from my
desktop (that is getting fixed right now) and plugged it up to my
laptop. Right now, my laptop and desktop monitor are mirrored.

I've looked everywhere, and Googled everything, but my laptop can't
detect the second monitor, even though it is mirroring my laptop.

I'm not sure if it's my laptop are not, which is a Compaq Presario F700
Notebook PC, and at the moment has Vista Ultimate 32bit.


Can anybody help me figure out why it can't find my 2nd monitor?

That laptop apparently has nVidia GeForce 7000M graphics, which has nView
dual-head display.

Make sure you have the ForceWare software installed:

what's the brand, model and size of the monitor?
what type of video output are you using?
