Dualview desktop problems

I have an 8600GT running in dualview mode (1680x1050 and 1024x1280).

I appreciate this is largely a Nvidia problem, but is there any way of doing
any of the following through Vista64:

1. Setting different desktops;
2. Extending a single desktop (including dreamscenes) through multiple
screens:
3. Playing dreamscenes asynchronously in two monitors?

If not, any patches out there?

Thanks.

If the Nvidia multiple monitor software doesn't do what you like, then
use a third-party program. UltraMon is excellent, but it costs.
DisplayFusion is supposed to be very good and it is free. You'll need to
see if either will work with Vista. Most definitely both programs will
do #1 and #2 for you; I don't know about #3. It will depend on whether
you can run several instances of DreamScene at the same time and I have
no idea about that. You'll need to experiment.

Thanks Mike,

UltraMon does look flash (Vista compatibility is a work in progress though)
but to save US$35+ I can cope with duplicate screen savers and the little
functionality that Nvidia have graced me with!

Shaun

DisplayFusion allows different desktop backgrounds, does work with Vista and
is free.

All these capabilities especially the taskbar on multiple monitors was asked
for vista by the feedback before vista was released... but guess what?
Microsoft ignored everyone! And what did they do? NOTHING...

Well, actually they did do things.. they bloated Vista with things people
DIDN'T want instead!

Mike, do you know whether DisplayVision permits extending the task bar
across both monitors?

Sorry, typo. That should be "DisplayFusion," of course.

Thanks. I stay away from betas, so I'll pass, at least for now.
