Duplicate email messages

I am receiving 2 copies of each email message in WLM downloaded from gmail.
Any suggestions as to how to stop the duplication?

Have you set up the account twice in Tools - Accounts, perhaps one account
is an alias for the same mailbox . . . . .

I might offer that, when a Sync (formerly known as 'Send and Receive' in OE)
is done and a timeout happens with respect to the mail server (as when one
has been sent a whopping big file attachment), WLM will not reattempt the
single message but ALL messages from the last fetch/sync. I had this happen
the first time last week, when some bright soul sent me a message with a 6MB
attachment, combined with a temporarily-questionable broadband connection.

That's the design for POP3. The protocol assumes that in any
communications error, none of the messages were successfully downloaded
and saved and on the next download all messages will be resent. It's
better to get duplicate messages than lose some.
