Duplicate emails

I just got my new puter with Windows 7 and use the WLM reader for my Comcast
email and Hotmail email (as well as this news group). Ever since I set it
up to download from the website into my reader, I get the same posts in both
my Comcast account and my Hotmail account, and, of course, I have different
email addresses for each.

Hi,
For an unknown reason WLM set standard to keep your e-mails on the server ,
so every mail related on the same mailbox is receiving the same mail.

Just go to your e-mail account advanced setting and uncheck on all account
the indication to keep it onto the server.

Delete the Comcast account from the Hotmail account.

I am having the same problem when the mail downloads in to Windows Live. I
have two xtra email addresses set up in Windows Live and I have created some
message rules so the emails to that address goes in to that folder, this is
working fine but we are still getting two emails for the same thing
downloading in the same folder.--

Are these POP3 accounts?

Are the two extra e-mail addresses alias of each other? (They have the
same settings at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers for both
Incoming POP3 server AND Incoming Account Name) Then either account may
download messages for both e-mail addresses. And if you have Tools,
Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced, Leave a copy on the server, then
both accounts will download all messages giving you duplicates.

You could remove the Leave a copy on the server for both accounts. Or
on the General tab, only one account should have the Include this
account when receiving mail checked.
