My HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop (running Vista Ultimate x64) has only on
optical drive, a Mat****a SVS-RAM UJ-851S ATA Device. I use it to bur
a lot of folders containing photo files to CD. I use the "mastered
option because they sometimes need to be used on computers runnin
earlier versions of Windows. About a week ago, it started reading disk
it had recently burned incorrectly.
When a recently burned disk is reinserted, the folder icon still ha
the downward arrow over it ("waiting to be burned"). If I click "Bur
to disc", it gives me the message "There are no files to burn."
If I double click on the folder, it will open and show the photo icon
normally, but they won't open in Windows Photo Gallery. They will ope
normally in Adobe Photoshop. If I copy the folder back onto my har
drive, the folder and its contents will open normally from the har
drive in both programs.
When I check the properties of the folder, it thinks the folder i
still in my temporary burn folder. When I check the properties of th
photo files in the misplaced folder, they are correctly identified a
being on the CD. My temporary burn folders are empty (there are two o
them in my "Burn" folder - could that be part of the problem?).
The affected disks function normally on other computers. Disks burne
more than 2 weeks ago are not affected
