dvd drivers

i try to install my camera and because it wasn,t compatible with the windows
vista basic my dvd driver disapeard

Totally illogical but yeah that sounds like windows.
Try system restore to the closest point before the problem...

HP offered me a hap hazard way of getting the drivers back which included
backing up my registry and then deleting the drivers from it and letting
windows reinstall them.
Sys. restore seemed easier and did the job...

what will happen if you try restoring your driver by going into the Device
Manager?
Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Right-click your DVD drive ->
Properties -> Driver
Select the option you want to use to restore - Update Driver... could work.
