DVD not working on non-Vista PCs

I have copied photos onto a DVD+R and on my laptop which has Vista I can see
all of these photos. However, on my XP PC and friends' non-Vista OS's we all
get the message "D:\ is not accessible The disk structure is corrupted
and unreadable"

Could somebody please help me and offer suggestions as to what the problem
is and how it can be resolved? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
me.

I believe the disk has to be "finalized" to be read on other computers.

What application did you use to create the DVD?

Hi Cal Bear '66,

I'm just double clicking on the DVD icon in my computer. I copy photos from
Windows Photo Gallery and then paste them onto the DVD. On the DVD
application there are options to Encrypt File, Decrypt File and Open/Close
PSD; are any of these options I should be using?

Thanks for your assistance, Matt

Search in Help and Support for "close a DVD", "finalize a DVD", "Burning DVDs,
etc..

It appears that certain types of media must be closed before being able to be
read in other computers.

With the disk in the drive, to close it you right click on the disk and choose
close. Closing the disk permits further write sessions as opposed to finalizing.

Also, you might want to look up the two different file format options. Mastered
discs are more compatible with older versions of Windows.

All of your questions like this can be readily answered by using Windows own
Help and Support. Don't forget to use it first.
