1) My brother plugged in a pen drive in my laptop which containe
viruses at that time i had norton internet security 11.0 which han
during scanning the usb drive

2)the virus was transfered anyhow without opening any file in my lapto
then i manually deleted unrecognized files and folders includin
desktop.ini this i think was main virus i know its a config file bu
there was 100 of this files

now my optical drive goes wild....

3)everytime whether i insert a blank cd,dvd or data cd dvd it alway
showed me that files ready to be written on disk and the file was hidde
guess what was it it was DESKTOP.INI and 3 days before i burn a mp3 c
using roxio media creator and since then my dvd drive has gone... i
automatically ejects when i insert blank or data cd dvd and the msg i
given to me that "there is no disk into drive please insert cd" :mad

4) i have tried everything i tried to install new drivers i uninstalle
the drivers but when i add new hardware it again install the same drive
the option of roll back driver is also not available and when i try t
update via internet the msg appears that there is no update require
because the driver is up to date

i think the virus has configured my registry and settings of optica
drive because it automatically ejects the drive whenever i insert even

Using Windows Update, update your Windows Defender with the latest definitions and run a full system-wide scan thoroughly.
Download the `Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool` from the Microsoft Download center and scan your system using it.
Go to http://onecare.live.com and run the free online safety scanner available.

Well, look, if you really have a stubborn malware infection your
best bet is a reformat and reinstall, because even if you fix the dvd
problem you'll never be sure the virus is gone.

Follow the instructions for the Lower and Upper filters in the 1st MS KB. If it does not fix the issue then use the 2nd KB below
