At about "Encoding 3.0%", Windows DVD Maker crashes and proceeds to
restart. This started happening recently. We were able to make DVDs
without crashing about a month ago.

We have a NVidia video card on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

Faulting application DVDMaker.exe, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b5b0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time
stamp 0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000af1c9,
process id 0x16a8, application start time 0x01c7f88ba2c4b85b.

Is the entire system crashing?
If so it could be a heat related problem.
Encoding DVD'S will really heat a CPU up.
Try blowing the dirt from your cpu fan (With the power off)
This can also be done with a vacuum hose held near the fan.

This is the 1st thing to try.

It cured a fried of mine system a month that just started crashing
while he was burning.

Good Luck

No. DVDMaker.exe crashes and DVDMaker.exe restarts. The computer is
fine.

You wouldn't happen to have a REALLY old version of FFDShow.ax on the
system, would you? I would only use/trust the FFDShow Tryouts Beta 3
version at this point. Anything different or older would be likely to cause
problems.

I'm pretty sure I don't have FFDShow.ax.

What's the current fault bucket then? (Make sure your report those to
Microsoft...)
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket
I believe when I looked at your crash it appeared to be a crash in the old
FFDshow.ax . But I'm sure you could search for that easily enough, so you
probably already know that answer. =)
