is this true - that if you have vista home basic, any dvds you burn will only
play on computers not on dvd players? I am having this problem (and my dvd
player will play all types dvds, so it's not the player). is there any way
around this? (if i use mediaplayer or roxio)?

Windows Vista Home Basic does not include Windows DVD Maker, but third party
DVD burning solutions will work just fine, Roxio, NERO and many others.

sorry for andres generic answer.

Are you using Roxio to create your dvd's ?

How are you creating them copying the files directly to disk or converting
them first ?

Please note that Media Player in Vista Home Basic does not support DVD play
back, you will need to have supported codec or use a third party DVD player.

Computers include DVD Players too, he didn't inform us if it was one in his
PC or one attached to a TV. Stop being so condescending, negative and having
an attitude, please.

sorry andre,

re-read the question properly and it will "CLEARLY" state a player not a
computer.
