Hi tiberius

i am think of extening one drive into another,in windows xp you can only do
this with a dynamic drive so i think this would be the same for vista.I know
in windows xp you can only have a dynamic drive in the pro verson so i didnt
know if i would be able to do this with vista home premium. In the disk
manaagement snap-in on the MMC i right click the drive (not the volume) and
there is no option to convert the drive to a dynamic drive.

Hello Mark,

Home Premium and Home Basic do not support dynamic disks.

The way to do it is by running diskpart from an elevated command prompt.
Once diskpart is running you will need to use the 'list' 'select' and
'convert' commands. Just type those commands with no arguments to see
what you can do with each of them.

I've never actually done anything with diskpart, so don't blame me if
your machine and your life goes up in flames.

Oh, just three more things before you try diskpart:
1. Backup
2. Backup
3. Backup again, but really do it this time!
