I just purchased a laptop and having problems setting up my e-mail account
on the laptop. On my desktop I'm setup w/att.yahoo.com when I set it with
the same configuration as my desktop I get this error msg.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'att.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Can you tell me the problem and a solution?

Contact your ISP for the correct settings, Samuel.

That server doesn't use port 25. It requires port 465 with SSL.
The complete settings are given here:

The experts around here that actually help people don't use just their
thumbs to write messages so they have difficulty understanding "u" and "ur"
and "coz"; you should try communicating like most people do instead of using
text messaging shorthand. You truly are more likely to get help around here
if you do.

The solution is there; just read. If that does not help you then you have a
different problem and you need to create a new thread and describe your
problem thoroughly. Post the complete error message.
