Greetings Bill,
Both of you may want to go through the Audio and video setup wizard to make sure that echo
cancellation is enabled.
To do so, hit the Alt key on the keyboard, choose the Tools menu, and then choose Audio and
video setup. Click Next and then verify that the 'Click here if you are using headphones' is
unchecked, then finish the wizard to save the changes.
If this wasn't the problem, I'd suggest getting headsets as opposed to using the vx built-in
mic.
