Hi,

Is it possible to purchase a windows vista home basic product key on line?

I'd like to validate an illegal installation (inherited). Couldn't see the
facility on the MS web site. Or would I be better just to go to the store
and buy the package (solely for the product key)

Thanks!!

Jim

It is the same if buying on line or going to the store. Better to buy the media with
the license and install the purchased media after removing the pirated version

Windows Vista is not sold anymore. Consider purchasing a "full version"
of Windows 7:

In addition to Norm's post you may want to consider Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...=Windows+Vista

There are some really good deals here. And Vista Upgrade version can be
over-installed and use the new key and you should not lose any settings or
data.

Depending on the service pack level you currently have on your Vista OS you
may be able to get an upgrade Home Basic disk and license for as little as
$59.99 with free shipping.

Ebay is your savior if you don't want to hassle with an OS change.

I have ordered a copy from Amazon. Thank you for your help. Can't
understand why Microsoft won't give you a valid key in exchange for payment.
It's not rocket science!

Thanks,

Jim
