Emachines and BITS problem

Need Help! My sister recently purchased a eMachines destop. It has Windows
XP as the OS, but I am having problems getting Windows Update to work. It
seems to stop on the download portion after finding the necessary updates.

Here is an excerpt from her windowsupdate.log file (seems to be a problem
with the BITS service):

When I try to start the BITS service, it tells me that it could not start and
that I should look at the System Event log for more information. The
following message was displayed:

The BITS service terminated with a service-specific error 2147942402
(0x80070002)

Are there certain .dlls I need to look for to make sure BITS can run properly?
