I''ve got my spam filters set up. I have two msn accounts on WL. When I
attemptto set up filter to send emails from certain sources to particular
folders, I can't get the program to filter emails anywhee but in the "Storage
Folder". The only two folders that show up as choices are the Storage Folder
and the "Outbox". I'm using tools -- Manage rules... Mail...
The rules are set up but I dn' know how to get them to filter the email
coming into my two msn accounts.
Can anyone help?

The message rules only work for POP accounts.
I assume your MSN accounts are HTTP-based?

Thanks, Gary. That must be the reason. Now, can anyone tell me when I will be
able to use filters on the http: accounts?

Microsoft never saw fit to apply rules to HTTP (and IMAP) accounts in MS
Outlook Express. I do not expect them to change that for Windows Live Mail.

The only filters available and most likely for quite some time for msn.com,
live.com, or hotmail.com accounts are those in the web
interface(hotmail.com)
<Automatically sort e-mail into folders
Instantly organize your incoming e-mail by setting up one or more e-mail
filters. Filters automatically put messages into certain folders as they
arrive. >

Folders can be created in the http account in WLM or using the web
interface. Filters can only be created in the web interface.
Filter fields are -- From address, From Name, Subject, To or CC lines.
Logical operators -- contains, ends with, equals, doesn't contain, starts
with, contains word
Delivery -- to any current or default folder, new folder, or delete

aww.. shucks.. gee, golly, gee-whiz.. I was hoping I would be able to
manage/maintain my hotmail folders and their filters strictly on the desktop
version of Windows Live Mail and remove all folders (and/or turn off the
filters) on the http version. Reason being is that my new VZW phone's mobile
email doesn't seem to display folders.. I can only see the Inbox. Even using
the browser, although I can see the other folders, I can't open them! A
not-so-elegant solution would have been to let everything go to the Inbox in
the http UI and have it filed into my folders when I use the desktop version.
Guess that's not going to work.. any other ideas? (..I know, get a smart
phone with Windows Mobile, right? ..just a bit late for that now!)

Thanks,
Tom
