Greetings,
It sounds like you just need to change the default application for mail in Vista. To do
that, click the Start button and then type Default Programs. When the Default Programs
shortcut appears, click it.
Then choose 'Set program access and computer defaults', Custom will no doubt be selected,
just click the arrow in that row. Then under the choose default e-mail program option,
choose Windows Live Mail and click OK.
Note that if you use the other "default program" applets in Vista, they might not set it up
correctly as Live Messenger uses a different process to determine what the default mail
handler is.
