What Email software must I use under windows 7 ??

In the days of Windows NT, I used Outlook Express - no problems. When I
changed to Windows Vista Home Premium, I went to the new Windows Mail - no
problems, but did I have another choice??
I have now been looking at Windows 7, and it seems that Windows Mail will no
longer be an option --- so I will be forced to change yet again to a
different email package.

What will that be??

Also, can I change to that software now under Windows Vista (Home Premium),
to save the hassle of another change at Windows 7 time???

Your help would be appreciated.

Microsoft wants you to use Windows Live Essentials - Free

http://download.live.com/

I would also use PopPeeper which adds functionality and makes it easier
get attachments and maybe work off line. PP works with Hotmail/Livemail,
Gmail, Yahoo, and many other IMAP, POP3, or Webmail Accounts and
all can be setup in once instance of PP. PP is not a true email client
however
it works well with or without a separate email progam and/or Live Mail.

http://www.poppeeper.com/screenshots.php

You can start using Windows Live and PopPeeper now and still use your
present WinMail in conjunction until you switch to Windows 7.

Your choices can include Windows Live Mail, MS Outlook, Thunderbird, and
Eudora.

Thanks to Spirit and PA Bear for your comments.
Seems the answer is that if I want to stay with Microsoft, then I can I
either pay for Outlook or go to Live Mail.
What functionality will I lose if I go to Live Mail. On the face of it, it
seems to be a very simplified email program.

Windows Live Mail actually has many more features than WM.
About the only feature you will lose is the ability to edit the source code of
HTML messages.
To upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail
