Email Transfer using Easy Transfer

We have moved email messages from Outlook Express V.6 on an XP system to a
new machine with Vista using the Easy Transfer program. According to the
report generated on the new machine, the transfer was successful and all the
email messages show on the report. However, the old email files are not
being recognized by the Vista equivalent of OE, Windows Mail. How can we get
Windows Mail to link to the transferred email messages?
